The Nissan Note e-Power is equipped with a series hybrid system. The series hybrid system in the Note e-Power consists of a compact 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and an electric traction motor. In contrast to conventional power-split parallel hybrid vehicles, in series hybrids the compact engine is only used to charge the battery, while the electric motor acts as the sole traction source without plug-in functionality. The electric motor has an output of 80 kW (109 hp) and 240 Newton metres (180 lb-ft) of torque.
